1. PROPER HAND HYGIENE:
Wet your hands with clean warm water, then thoroughly apply soap and scrub for at least 30 seconds. Then rinse, and dry with a clean towel. Wash your hands after you do anything…literally. Any time you come into contact with anything thats has been touched by others (door nob, money, gas pumps, railings, pin pads etc), wash your hands. A quick tip is to sing through the ABCs or The Thong Song chorus twice lol. Remember to use hand sanitizer when washing your hands is not possible, but the most effective way to reduce exposure is hand washing. Use a paper towel to turn off the faucet and to use on door knob when leaving the restroom. Here is our DIY Hand Sanitizer instructions just in case it is out in stores near you!
2. COUGHING AND SNEEZING ETIQUETTE:
Avoid coughing or sneezing your hands. Duh! lol If tissues are not available, cough or sneeze into your upper arm or sleeve. Turn away from other people when coughing or sneezing. If you are sick, avoid unnecessary contact with others.
3. STOP TOUCHING YOUR FACE:
“Studies show people touch their faces an average of 3.6 times per hour, meaning you’re touching your face more often than you’re washing your hands. Self-awareness of this habit can help reduce the spread of this virus.”
We also recommend wiping down anything you touch frequently with a disinfectant—your phone, computer, steering wheel, door handles, car keys, and so on. Make sure you wash your hands before doing this for the most effective job.
4. GLOVES AND MASK protection:
“According to the CDC, use of masks or gloves is not currently recommended for the general public.”
However, it is recommended if you’re sick, have any flu or cold-like symptoms, or are a healthcare professional.
If you have gloves handy, it wouldn’t hurt using them when going out in public.
5. LISTEN TO AUTHORITIES:
“Health officials are still learning about the virus and how it’s transmitted. We strongly encourage everyone to follow the guidance as outlined by the CDC or your local health department. For more information, click here.”
6. Stock up just in case:
I’m not one to play into things like this but I definitely don’t want to get caught out here looking stupid. Lines in grocery stores have been insane and food is slowly dwindling from the last time I visited the grocery (tonight lol). I do believe we all should be prepared. Purchase a few of your fave snacks, non perishable items preferably, such as soups, rice, tuna, noodles, cookies etc. If we are quarantined, I don’t know why that effect the electricity so still get the good stuff too. Your favorite meals. Hey, this could be a great time to learn a new recipe or two and have some amazing you time or time with bae! Just incase the electricity is tampered with, make sure you have all of the necessary survival items as well. Be sure to hit the grocery store for all your necessities ASAP!
Stay safe out here ladies. Call your friends and family and create a safe space that is perfect for you in this time.
xoxo
