As we enter into to uncertain times, here are a few at home ab workouts perfect for getting ready for summer (because there will be a Summer!).

The Pike:

When doing the plank pike tighten your abs and raise your hips into the air as high as possible, pausing for a moment at the top before lowering back into the starting position. Use an ab dolly or you can use gliders instead for the Pike! Don’t cheat yourself, try to get the dolly up as close as you can to your chest. My hamstrings were tight but I got it together after two 2-3.

Dumbbell Sit Ups:

This exercise is pretty self explanatory. When doing the dumbbell sit up hold the dumbbell over your chest arms and legs should fully extended. Then sit up as normal. I like the range it gives me. Doesn’t feel like you’re cutting your core in half, you’re gonna feel it all the way down !

Hip Dips:

Hip dips are a great way to get into your obliques (sides of your core)! Set up your plank and start your dips from side to side. I prefer this MUCH better than the twisty weight machine because you’re holding a plank the whole time as well. Remember to keep your shoulder above your elbow!! Gives you support, alignment, and protects you against unnecessary discomfort.

Summer bodies, gotta start now!!
