The Playlist:
The playlist is comprised of songs that I selected that have a sentimental meaning or resonation to the lyrics. I wanted listeners to feel sexy, empowered and be reminded of different aspects of love, and even the heartbreak we've overcome and have endured. Most importantly, I wanted the listeners to experience what I felt while making the playlist and the transition into the different "moods" which is why I stress that you should not shuffle. This is the perfect playlist for any situation if you feel the need to be inspired, tap into your Divine Femininity, unwind with your partner or just sing your heart out with your girls; this playlist has something for everyone!
The Story:
I met The Mood Goddess at my partners, friends birthday party and I loved her vibe! She told me she was a DJ and made music playlists so I was like, oh yes I want to listen! She sent it over and I checked it out and immediately thought ok yea, this woman knows music. Especially because the mix flowed so seamlessly. It was Perfect. I loved the vibe and learned some new songs and artists along the way lol. I met her in the midst of creating this platform and I most definitely wanted a music component so I reached out and we came up with a Mood God(ess) Sequence that will continue to be apart of the blog. So stay tuned for more vibes!
the Mood Goddess
Since a child my passion and obsession with quality music has been my super power. My vast musical rolodex is heavily influenced by my Jamaican heritage and experiences growing up in New York and South Florida as a real 90s-00s baby. Dubbed as the “Almanac” or “Jukebox” by family and friends, I became the go to person for discovering new music and creating nostalgic vibes with my extensive music library. Whether it was burning mixed CDs in high school or by special request to make a playlist for a long drive, it’s a warming feeling to know that people trust my ear and taste in music to curate the vibe and introduce new music into their lives.
Currently living in my truth and honing in on my super power as the Mood Goddess, a curator, DJ and future producer, it is my duty to set the mood and enchant others with present- day and nostalgic sound waves! My inspiration when curating a playlist, literally depends on the mood that I am in and it translates with each song selection as the playlist progresses. When asked to do a collaboration with Swoon to curate a playlist for February, I knew the exact vibe! I wanted to make a playlist that was universal and expressive of the all different types of love. Self love, love of a partner and love of friendships. I selected songs and productions that were nostalgic to me and evoked a certain memory or feeling when hearing it.
